Nice car lad, concerning the CoC don't order one as its totally useless in France, at least not in my region and from what I understood, it's useless everywhere in France!
Of you have any questions, feel free to ask.

as I understand it, (& as you say) in std. form the COC will not work in france.
But with a few alterations by issuing Austria TVR, directed by some information from the french data base, then all should be good, is this not the case? or did you not know of these alterations that need to be made?
as for the French comments, the translator leaves little sense being made, I have a feeling this may be the case anyway :hehe:

Re: Bonjour from a Newbie :D
You're welcome for the lad reference ! Glad you went down memory lane a bit :-).
In std. form, the CoC delivered by tvr.eu is useless for the following reasons:
1- 3/4 of the info is missing
2- According to the French authority there is no where mentioned how they got the data, if it was done according to European directives or not and which ones. Only the info concerning pollution will be accepted as the CoC states it meets EURO 3 std (or EURO 2)
This is from my experience concerning my 02 Tuscan.
The Griffith had a EU type approval but only a few chassis are concerned.
Also, some "prefecture" (those who deliver the "carte grise") sometimes, by lack of understanding of the procedure or incompetence might give you the carte grise straight away, but that will be a matter of pure luck, I would say half a dozen in France got registered that way.
Concerning the alterations I'm not sure I know what you are reffering to, please enlighten me :-)
Ps: concerning the French comments I understood them as im fluent but I'm not sure I understand what they implied and why they were made
